CHOO-CHOO AND THE DOCTOR: Breaking down MSU’s win over Toledo
Jehuu Caulcrick and Paul Fanson evaluate Pat Fitzgerald’s debut, Alessio Milivojevic’s growth, the running game, and MSU’s defensive lapses
Spartans Illustrated’s exclusive interview series with former Michigan State running back and current Spartan Radio Network color analyst Jehuu Caulcrick is back for a second season.
In the season premiere of “Choo Choo and the Doctor,” Caulcrick joins Paul Fanson, better known as Dr. Green and White, to break down Michigan State’s 30-20 victory over Toledo in Pat Fitzgerald’s debut.
Caulcrick evaluates Fitzgerald’s fit at Michigan State, the performance of quarterback Alessio Milivojevic, Cam Edwards and the running game, an improved offensive line, and a defense that was generally solid outside of a few costly explosive plays.
The two also look ahead to former MSU quarterback Noah Kim’s return to Spartan Stadium with Eastern Michigan and discuss the controversial ending between Michigan and Western Michigan.
Michigan State opened the Fitzgerald era with a victory, but Caulcrick sees plenty of room for growth as the Spartans prepare for Eastern Michigan. Finishing drives, eliminating explosive plays, and continuing to develop along the offensive line will be among the priorities this week.
