Many Michigan State fans were expecting an easy homecoming win over the UCLA Bruins on Saturday. Instead, the Spartans were soundly defeated in all three phases of the game in a humbling 38-13 loss.

Based on the scoreboard, the overall result was an 'F.' However, it can be helpful to consult external data to better understand what went well and what went poorly.

As we have done over the past few weeks, let's take a quick look at the grades for each player as compiled by Pro Football Focus (PFF), starting with the offense.

Table 1: Pro Football Focus snap counts and grades for the offense Michigan State in the Week Seven loss versus UCLA.

The top three players on offense this week were:

  • Tackle Conner Moore (74.7)

  • Wide receiver Nick Marsh (74.6)

  • Tackle Ashton Lepo (73.5)

The next highest graded player on offense was running back Makhi Frazier (63.2).
