Tom Izzo believes Michigan State athletics is entering another golden period

Tom Izzo has experienced enough upheaval at Michigan State to recognize stability when he finally sees it.

After what he described as an “interesting 8 to 10 years,” Izzo opened his 32nd season as Michigan State’s head coach sounding unusually optimistic about more than his own program. He sees strength in the university’s leadership, confidence in the direction of the athletic department, and promising signs from programs across campus.

For the first time in a while, Izzo believes Michigan State athletics is rising together.
